Chief Keef is looking to religion once he is released from juvenile detention.

The Sun Times reports that Rev. Corey Brooks wants to baptize Keef, he said on Friday.

The Chicago minister, who is known as the “rooftop pastor,” plans on helping Keef take a vow into Christianity. He has visited Keef at the juvenile detention facility in St. Charles and shared his insights on the 17-year-old.

“I think people forget he is 17 years old,” Brooks said. “He is not a bad kid.”

He added that Keef “has had a chance to think” to understand his impact as an young entertainer.

“He is an entertainer, that is how he sees himself. But at the same time, he has a God-consciousness. He is not some terror who is wreaking havoc.”

The pastor plans on baptizing Keef at the New Beginnings Church in the Woodlawn neighborhood.
